Your responsibilities

KiM GmbH, based in St. Wendel in the Saarland, develops CAD product catalogues and configuration systems for its customers from a wide range of industries, providing the necessary applications and systems with CADClick® software technology.

We are looking for an IT system administrator with immediate availability to support and enlarge our team, plus, to manage and expand our IT infrastructure. Administration will include both desktop and server systems in St. Wendel, as well as those of some service providers. Our systems run almost without exception on Microsoft Windows. Other locations and employees working remotely via the Mobile Office are connected via VPN and firewall.

• Configuring and installing (new) network components as well as taking care of their maintenance
• Maintaining and updating system documentation
• Monitoring, maintenance and further development of networks, systems and firewall (basic infrastructure of our company)
• Administration and installation of a virtual landscape with Hyper-V
• Selecting, testing and implementing new hardware and software.
• License management
• Employee training, employee and customer support
• Installation, maintenance and administration of client and server systems
• Integrating new systems and concepts into the existing IT infrastructure
• Optimisation and regular maintenance of the existing network infrastructure
• Fault clearance and troubleshooting of server and network components or supporting them
• Support for Level 1 and Level 2
• Advising other divisions and speciality departments on company-wide IT infrastructure projects
• Process simplification, optimisation, documentation
• Planning and implementing backup concepts and archiving processes

Your profile

• Education or training qualification as an IT system administrator or a comparable qualification with a high IT affinity
• Active commitment, resilience, teamwork and flexible working
• Clean and organised way of working as well as solution-oriented and analytical way of thinking
• Good knowledge of system administration (e.g., MS Windows Server / operating systems)
• Experienced and confident handling of MS Office applications and Windows operating systems
• Practical experience in IT administration in the Microsoft environment
• Knowledge of Microsoft Server 2012-19 and Hyper-V, DNS, Office 365, Azure, Microsoft Exchange, Docker and PowerShell.
• Independent work style
• Good command of the German and English languages, both written and in the spoken word.

Your tasks

We are looking for enthusiastic team players who take ownership of their work and make courageous well-thought-through decisions.

• Designing and programming modern product configuration systems
• Developing client/server architectures or applications on the web
• Developing requirements as part of the team for improving and expanding the CADClick® core software products as well as special extension modules
• Active further development of CADClick® and implementing new software ideas based on customer and market requirements
• Responsibility/project management in developing customer applications
• Customer Support

Your profile

You should bring the following experiences with you

• Studies in computer science technology or comparable training
• Ideally already have practical knowledge and experience in software development of web/cloud-based applications
• Knowledge of ASP.NET or .NET core development with Microsoft Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server (TFS)
• Experience with native Javascript and Frameworks (e.g., React, Angular)
• Knowledge of 3D programming, computer graphics, and CAD environment is of advantage
• Willingness to continuously adapt and stay up to date with the latest trends in the industry
• Strong affinity to IT, quick comprehension, and independent way of working
• Ability to work in a team, initiative, analytical and conceptual way of thinking and working
• The day-to-day work language is German However, ideally you should not hesitate to speak and write in English.

Your profile

• Experience with software development in Microsoft Visual Studio
• Knowledge of 3D programming, computer graphics, UI development with MFC and in the CAD environment is of advantage

• Independent and self-reliant working style
• Teamwork and communication skills (internal and with customers)
