alwitra configurator: BIM-capable product data for digital construction
In today’s case study, we present the 3WA 3D configurator from Siemens. The complexity of the product posed a major challenge during implementation, as the circuit-breaker contains a complicated range of variants (7335 basic devices / 700 accessories). The basic devices and accessories should be selectable and exportable for the user in the product configurator. KiM was also responsible for creating the data for the components when implementing the 3D configurator.
Overview of cooperation in the project
As already mentioned, KiM not only developed the operating concept for the 3WA configurator, but also created the parametric CAD models for it using its in-house CADClick® software technology. In addition, all common export formats are provided automatically.

When developing the operating concept, care was taken to ensure that the user always has a complete overview of their configuration. In addition, despite the complexity of the product, operation is guaranteed without restrictions on a smartphone “Mobile First”.
