Tortec Brandschutztor GmbH fire protection doors receive dimensioned drawings at the touch of a button (Made in Austria)

Tortec is the leading Austrian fire door manufacturer in the field of architecturally high-quality special solutions from Austria.

In Wolfsegg, Upper Austria, Tortec, part of the Hörmann Group, manufactures fire protection doors and gates for the most demanding projects in Germany and other European countries. The product portfolio for doors is characterized by a wide range of variants with a consistently high-quality appearance for all fire protection requirements and multi-purpose applications.

In 2020, we received a request from the plant to generate automated dimensional drawings for preparing quotations. The fire protection doors should continue to be configured using the product configurator already in use and the resulting quotation system.

The implementation:

With our CADClick® technology, models are controlled via predefined parameters and deliver the desired dimensional drawings.

The data is created by Tortec itself. The employees were trained accordingly by KiM project manager Oliver Kunz.

We started with a proof of concept. In the further course of the project, regular meetings were held to support the creation of 2D/3D model data and guided project implementation. The Tortec employees mastered the complex tasks very well with a great deal of commitment. The models created already provide the basis for later 3D visualization and BIM output.

After around 1 year of implementation and subsequent internal test operation, the automated generation of dimensional drawings was presented to the trade public at the “BAU” trade fair in April 2023. The official go-live of the Hörmann quotation and order system took place after “BAU”. We would like to thank you for the positive feedback on the integration of CADClick®-based dimensional drawings.

With the implementation of the Tortec fire protection doors, we are presenting another showcase project of how CADClick® can be integrated into existing configurator systems and digital processes and how it can be expanded to include 2D/3D CAD/BIM data.
